Thanks to general relativity, astronomers can map out concentrations of matter in the Universe, even when they can't actually see it. Like concentrations of dark matter, which only interact with regular matter through gravity, and not through electromagnetic radiation. Astronomers recently used an artificial intelligence program to dig through old surveys of data and discover dozens of gravitational lenses that can be used by astronomers to study even farther back into the Universe.
