A new Approach Could Tease out the Connection Between Gravity and Quantum Mechanics

Quantum mechanics explains how the Universe works at the atomic scale, while gravity describes the Universe at the largest scales. Unfortunately, the two theories are seemingly incompatible. Physicists have been trying to make them agree for over a century. A new idea could study how billions of super-cooled atoms in a Bose-Einstein condensate might act together to produce gravity. Even billions of atoms would only have the mass of a virus, but that might be enough to detect gravitationally.
